Greetings:  In the name of the State of Maine you are hereby required to notify and warn the Inhabitants of the Town of Stetson in the County of Penobscot and State of Maine, qualified by law to vote in Town affairs, to assemble at the  Meeting House on August 27, 2007 Stetson, Maine on August 27, 2007 at 7:00 o'clock in the evening, and there, to act on the following articles, to wit:

Article 1:        To choose a moderator to preside at said meeting.

Motioned and Seconded to choose Donald Grant as moderator.  (8 written votes were cast)

 Article 2:        To see if the voters of the Town of Stetson will appropriate and authorize a majority of the municipal officers of the Town to borrow on behalf of the Town, a principal amount not to exceed $180,000 through the issuance of general obligation bonds or notes of the Town of Stetson, which may be callable bonds or notes, the proceeds to be used to construct a sand/salt shed in the Town.

2.         Costs

 At an estimated interest rate of 2.5% for a term of twenty (20) years, assuming both bond articles are approved, the estimated costs of this bond issue will be:

Total Debt Service                  $228,795

3.         Validity

 The validity of the bonds and of the voters’ ratification of the bonds may not be affected by any errors in the above estimates.  If the actual amount of the total debt service for the bond issue varies

 from the estimate, the ratification by the voters is nevertheless conclusive and the validity of the bond issue is not affected by reason of the variance.

Article 3:        To see if the Town will vote to change the dates of the municipal election and annual Town meeting from the third weekend in May to the second Tuesday in June, with the Town Meeting to be held the first Saturday following the municipal elections.

Motioned, Seconded and Voted to accept and pass Article #3 as written.  Article Passed.

The Registrar of Voters will be in session at the Town office during regular office hours on August 27, 2007, and at the Town meeting for the purpose of correcting the list of voters.Given under our hands in the Town of Stetson, this 17th day of August in the year of our Lord, Two Thousand Seven.
