Call to Order:                        The meeting was called to order at 6:43 PM.

 

                                     The Secretary’s Reports for July and August were read and accepted as written.

 

The Treasurer’s Reports for July and August were read and accepted.  The current checking account balance is $5390.99.

 

Old Business:

 

1.      2005 Calendars: President Leighton turned in approximately $1302.75 in calendar sales money to date.   340 calendars have been sold so far.  It was decided to order 400 calendars from the printer.  The captions for the pictures in the 2005 calendar were reviewed.

2.      2004 Calendars: It was agreed to sell the remaining 2004 calendars for $5 each on Stetson day.

3.      Fund Raisers/Mugs: It was decided to have the logo oxen picture in black and white screened onto the mugs.  The mugs will be white with a gold rim.

4.      Gateway Signs:  The DOT has given a final approval for the placement of the signs.

5.      Stetson Day Parade: Brenda found that we could rent costumes to be worn in the parade for $10 to $15.  We are still looking for a cart or wagon to ride on.  President Leighton is following a lead on a pair of oxen that may be available to use in the parade.

 

New Business:

 

1.      Stetson Day Activities:  Organizers asked if the SHS would devise trivia questions for the Stetson Day event.  Charles agreed to do this using calendar picture captions.

2.      Creambrook Farm Inquiry:  Clark Thompson is doing a history of racehorses in Maine.  Prior to Alphonso Rand owning Creambrook Farm, a Mr. Grenville Shaw of Hartland, who raised horses there, owned it.  Mr. Thompson asked what information we had on the farm.

 

 

 

The next meeting will be held on October 7th at 6:30pm at the Stetson Library.
